Overview

This article provides comprehensive guidance on FortiGate Remediation, a critical process for addressing security vulnerabilities, optimizing performance, and ensuring the stability of Fortinet's FortiGate network security appliances. 


Steps Of Configuration

  1. Log in to the FortiGate Firewall.
  2. Click on Admin Profiles and then click on +Create New.
  3. Create a Profile by providing the Name and assigning permission as Read/Write. Click OK.
  4. Go to Administrator and click on REST API Admin.
  5. Add the Username. In the Administrator Profile, add the Admin which was created in Step 3.
  6. Change the PKI Group to OFF. Click OK.
  7. A new API key will be generated. Copy the key and save it in Notepad.
  8. Go to the UI Portal and click on Administrator > Remediator.
  9. Click Add and fill in the required fields:
    • Password/Secret Key: Paste the API Key from Notepad.
    • Confirm Password/Secret Key: Paste the API Key from Notepad. 
    • Config: Write {"port":"8443"}
  10. Click Save.
  11. Select Test Connection. In a few minutes, select Device Status to see the status of your device.
