PRTG Service Recommended Configuration

Modified on Tue, 3 Sep at 10:46 PM

Overview

The PRTG Core Server Service depends on particular Windows settings to be able to bind to the correct ports. To ensure proper operation after a reboot, you should set the service to Automatic (Delayed Start) to allow for these Windows settings to start after reboot. Follow the directions below to update this property.

  1. Go to Services.
  2. Right-click on PRTG Core Server Service and select Properties.
  3. Under General, select Automatic (Delayed Start).
  4. Select OK.

Note: When you choose Automatic (Delayed Start) for a service like PRTG Core Server Service, by default, the delay is two minutes after normal automatic services are started.
